I am a single, 56 year-old man. I work in a highly demanding/people oriented field. It is the type of work from which you come home feeling that you've put in a day's labor helping to make the world a better place. I like that about my job. I've been in the same line of work for over 30 years, and will likely retire after 2 more years.

I live alone (I share my home with a young dog.). I own my home outright, and am in all other ways financially independent/responsible. Never been married, and am looking to build a life partnership with a special person. I am politically/socially liberal person, and would prefer that my match be the same.

I live in one of the prettiest places on Earth. I'm fairly physically active (I like/need to get outdoors), and at the very least, walk the dog daily (I also do winter sports here in Lake Tahoe, and enjoy golf when the weather allows.).

I'm one of those folk who are drawn to the "givers" of this world. I aspire to be one myself. Those who routinely/unthinkingly do small things (and even big things) to give comfort/joy to people and critters. Kindness and courtesy are extremely important qualities to me.

I like the movies. A good movie validates my world in one way or another. When I find good ones, I'll watch them over and over (and over time).

I enjoy being out and involved with community events...local concerts/farmer's markets/potluck events/fundraisers/fairs/etc. where one can stroll around and meet and greet your neighbors. I like people and I relish my friends and neighbors.

I work hard at my profession, but have little trouble "leaving it all behind at the office" during holiday/vacation time. I enjoy travel...more places to see and experience than is possible in this lifetime...passport ready??
