Sharp-witted and educated conversation a must. Willingness to pursue outdoor activities together, from hiking and backpacking through snowboarding and surfing all the way to full-speed/full-contact rattan fighting at historical re-enactment events, definitely a plus.
I read and write fantasy and science fiction, I don't own a television, and I tinker with computers almost compulsively. Making music is a huge joy for me -- any instrument, any group, any time. I can fully appreciate good food and good wine. I love to travel and have been all over the world, both with the military and outside of it.
I'm borderline asexual, so if you're looking for lots of sexual fulfillment, I'm not the right person. I do want kids, so I won't be totally celibate -- but really, I'm just not that into sex.
