Hi, I am a 30 year old single female living in Westchester County, NY. I am a licensed funeral director/embalmer and have been for about 8 years. I recently had my heart broken back in May, and although I have dated "here & there" since May, I am finally ready to find the "one" that I would like to date more than just on occassion. In April 2007 I had gastric bypass surgery, which has changed my life in many ways. I am more confindent than I ever have been, and look and feel a hell of alot better than I ever did. Clearly, I am not shy or embarrassed by this, rather proud of what I have done. Going to the gym is an everyday part of mylfe at this point. It is no longer a task but rather a hobby of mine. I still need to drop a few more pounds, but as I said, I am a hell of alot better than I ever was. I am extremly girly, (always have my nails done & make-up on), but have no problem putting on a helmet & going 4-wheeling in the woods or fishing. I like to try new activities and would live to go hiking come this fall and camping. I like to travel, just recently got over my fear of flying which has made travelling so much easier. I have never been to Europe but would like to go sometime in the near future. I would like to vist (in no particular order and not all in the same trip), Italy, Ireland, Greece, England, France, Croatia, Romania & Spain. I do not have any children, but think that I would eventually want at least one, and I have no problem dating someone that has them. I would like to find a man who, works hard and is not afraid to break a nail or a sweat. Basically, he can't be more of a girl than I am. I don't mind drinking, but I don't want a drunk. A realationship with me needs to be a two way street, and I will not settle. I also want to be with someone who likes to do different activities and someone who I can learn from. I DO NOT AT ALL want to be with a couch potato. My works schedule can sometimes be odd hours, and Holidays, weekends, and snow storms do not keep me from going to work. So, who ever I am with needs to understand that this is my lively hood, and how I support myself. Lately, because I don't have a "significant other", I spend most of my free time working or picking up extra hours, which has prevented me from going out and meeting someone, so I figured I would give this a try. I honestly only have one single friend, everyone else is married with children, so doing the whole girls night out is a thing of the past. And my only single friend has recently found herself a new boyfriend here on plenty of fish. If you are at all interested feel free to say hi.

I think first dates can usually almost always be awkward, especially blind dates. So, for me, just meeting somewhere in public would be fine. Whether it's just for drinks or dinner or dinner & drinks. Someplace not super quiet, but quiet enough where we can hear each other.
