Well...I'll start by saying that I just relocated to Arlington from Atlanta, GA. I've traveled to DC frequently over the years so I'm not a complete "newbie" to the area but I'm ready to explore all the places I never had time to before! As for me...I'd describe myself as the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. Oh...and the funniest too! OK...my mom said to write that...but she would never lie! LOL! I'm pretty interesting. You wouldn't know it from my pictures. I've been told they are so "serious" looking and formal. It's quite the contrary from my personality because I don’t take anything too seriously these days. But what can I say...I don't really care for having my picture taken. I've done more in my nearly 48 years than most people will do in two life times. I'd go on and on about myself...but then there'd be no reason to get to know me!

Past experience with the internet dating thing tells me I should clarify a couple of things...

First...I won't respond if you don't have a picture on your profile.

Second...I don't respond to “winks”, “favorite" or “icebreakers” any longer. Once upon a time...I used to answer people who did that as opposed to sending an e-mail only to receive nothing back. Apparently it doesn't mean what I thought it! I much prefer receiving an e-mail. Extra credit for proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization. ;-)

Third...I'm not materialistic. I do like nice things and my "comfort" items...but only if I can get them at 90% off! LOL! If you think "full price" is a good deal or they know you by name at Neiman's...we probably aren't a good match. But if you think bargain hunting is part of the "thrill of the kill"...then we're definitely on the same page when it comes to "things"!

Fourth...I'd like to meet people who live nearby. I'm very spontaneous and if you need 1 to 2 weeks notice to get together...you're either too far away or your life is too hectic for me!

Fifth...if you want children...again...pass me by. I've already had a visit to the vet clinic and been "fixed"...you know...big plastic cone around my head and everything! It was hell not being able to lick my stitches! LMAO!

Sixth...I'd prefer to meet people who are close in age to myself...40's and up. Unlike many men my age...I'm not going through a midlife crisis, I don't drive an over-priced sports car and I'm not looking for young "arm candy"! Been there...done that!

Seventh…I’m not into extreme activities like skydiving, rock climbing, etc. I have responsibilities these days and I’ve realized I’m not indestructible like I was when I was in my twenties. Plus…I once witnessed a skydiving incident where the chute didn’t open. The ending wasn’t pretty! So…if that’s your thing or you’re looking for a fellow adrenalin junkie…we’re probably not a good match. I’m more into intellectual pursuits these days! Although I like outdoor activities…I prefer they be followed by a stay in a 5 star resort! ;-)

Finally…I'm pretty content with who I am and where I'm at in life. My mamma and daddy raised me right! So if you're looking for an "improvement project"...you should try a 20-something year old. I've met many who need plenty of "work"...especially when it comes to manners and etiquette!
