About Me
Someone recently asked me what I'm passionate about. Without hesitation, I said "Life". I put 100% into everything I do, whether it's work, play, hobbies, or relationships. I am a student of life and will most likely always be learning new things. I am happy to say that in the last year, I've achieved three major goals: being the official massage therapist for a team of professional athletes, achieving National Certification in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, and becoming an instructor at a local career college. Quite a change from working 60-70 hours a week in the IT/Automotive world (where I was for 20 years).
I don't smoke, and tend to not date people who do - although I don't mind someone smoking the occasional cigar (go figure). I never acquired a taste for beer (another "go figure"), but Captain Morgan and I are good friends, along with Joe (Cuervo, that is).
I like to play party games like euchre, Taboo, and strobe-light Twister. Looking forward to being good enough to play a Texas Hold 'Em tournament one of these days. I try to get out dancing at least once a week - the lead/follow kind: Latin, Swing, Ballroom, Country; but also like to freestyle. And I love listening to local musicians.
I'm looking for someone who enjoys the same types of things I do, and who can maybe broaden my horizons on new experiences (SCUBA diving and horseback riding are on my bucket list).
A clarification on my "undecided/open" response to the question regarding children: although I don't have children of my own, I do adore them. Whether or not you have children is not a major deciding for me. What matters to me is how well you and I get along, that we share basic values, and how much we look forward to spending time with each other.
Another clarification on the religion question: I consider myself more in the category of "spiritual but not religious", but that wasn't one of the options.
As a side note, I am not a fan of IMs, so please don't contact me that way. I'd rather not be sitting at a computer having a conversation....a couple of emails before meeting or hearing your voice or seeing you in person is much more preferable.
I just deleted some comments I made about "form letter" emails, only to go back to my inbox to yet another one. It appears that men (I supposed women do it to, but I don't know) just type standard text into an email and hit "send," hoping someone will respond. I guess it IS just like fishing! When I get those emails, I just hit "delete." Sorry, but if you can't take the time to differentiate between all the women you're contacting, I'm not a good match for you. So if you get upset when women don't respond to your emails, that is one of the reasons I don't respond. I want a custom-baited hook, not the standard earthworm. ;o)
First Date
Meeting for a drink, coffee, lunch, or dinner seem to be the most conducive to getting to know each other, because we can actually have a conversation.
