I've been on this site for a while now and it's okay I guess. I started to get sick of this site and internet dating in general, but recently I joined another dating site that was recommended by my friend who met his GF on it. So far, it seems to be a cool site. It's been on the internet for over 10 years and has a good amount of members. Anyways, here some basics about me: I live in Crystal Lake. I bought a house here a couple years ago. I consider myself to be outgoing and I love doing outdoors things like fishing, summer festivals, camping and just about anything. I like going down to the city to do things even though it's a little far of a drive but I love going there. I enjoy the simple things in life like having a bonfire or going out to a bar to meet a friend for drinks, or out to dinner.

I'm not at all into clubs. I'm not the type of person that parties all the time and drinks a lot. I do like to go out and drink at the bar but I don't hang out in them frequently. I listen to mostly rock music but all different types of stuff and I like going out to see bands play sometimes. Although, I'm open to many types of music, I really don't like rap or hip hop. In fact, I can't stand it. As far as work goes, I'm a union painter and I'm in the process of going back to school. I actually like painting and it can be a pretty cool job but it sucks sometimes too just like anything else. I would describe myself as being a very responsible and independent person. I've been on my own since I was 18 and always had my own place to live. I live by myself which is cool, but then sometimes it sucks. I'm very financially stable and I'm good at managing money, making money, paying the bills and mortgage and all that fun stuff.

I'm close with my family and I have some good friends that I've known for a long time. My honesty is probably my best quality and I'm very trustworthy and reliable. I'm really good at listening and giving advice when someone has a problem.

The type of person I'd be interested in meeting is someone with a good personality and someone that I simply get along with naturally. I'm a good person and I'm looking for the same. I have a good sense of humor and it would be cool to meet someone who can laugh and act goofy. Obviously a physical attraction is important, but if someone has no personality what's the point? I'm a non-smoker but I can tolerate someone who smokes occasionally.

I'm open to making new friends, but mostly I'm interested in something long term. I'm not the type of guy who dates just for the sake of dating. I would just like to meet someone and see where it goes. I'm easy to get along with once I get to know someone.

It depends on the person I guess but I think it's okay to just meet for a couple drinks or coffee somewhere. Then if it works out, there's tons of other things to do.
