I'm an unconventional (but not wacky), adventurous woman, friendly, curious and ready to dive into conversation on any number of topics.

I'm looking to add adult male energy to an otherwise happy and busy life that already includes writing for a living, close friends and raising a teenage (17+) boy. I've traveled a lot, both inside and outside the country and am ready to go almost anywhere at a moment's notice. Spiritually, I'm trying to practice non-attachment, in the Buddhist sense. However, I love to accumulate "stuff" especially if it involves a hunt or a bargain, and I believe every life should include a little excess -- I can't say exactly what that means, but I know it when I see it! I am passionate, compassionate, over previous relationships and left-of-center.


I'm looking for a literate man with a sense of humor and a tendency toward rogue-ishness. I'd like to play tennis, be encouraged to put air in the tires of my bike, get out to some of the state parks, see more movies, and hang out some nights just watching TV and eating pizza. Push me, please (a little), to be more active. I'm fit but would like to be more athletic (I consider my figure curvy and pleasingly-plus) I'd also like to learn to dance like a grown-up and am actually pretty good at following a man who knows how to lead (on the dance floor--some would say that's not exactly the case otherwise).

You can take me to family gatherings without fear that I will be shocked by anyone's behaviour--I've seen it all. You can count on me to be witty and even a little outrageous in the appropriate circumstances, and relatively subdued when I have to be (placate me with a glass of wine and I can generally behave well anywhere). I have learned to listen without offering advice (most of the time), and am generally willing to participate in new activities.

I'm avid about travel--just returned from three weeks, half in Antarctica, half in Buenos Aires. Weekends away are also nice. These days, I'm a happy Democrat. I can tolerate, even understand, moderate Republicans but if you were happy with W., honestly, you won't like me.

Flaws, I have a few...most notably, impulsiveness. I'm fast-moving; it can drive more deliberative types crazy. My son says that, when I get excited, the combination of red hair and widened green eyes can be a little scary--in my defense, I'm usually telling him for the THIRD time to take out the trash.
