Thanks for stopping by. Let's see, starting off with a phrase that is cliche may seem out of place, but here goes. I'm the type of person who works hard, plays hard, and definitely knows how to separate the two. I'm a big believer in positive thinking, and in the theory that few things worth having come easily. I have a strong desire to succeed at whatever I put my mind to and I’m a very down to earth, non-pretentious, and real person, both physically and emotionally.

As for social interaction, I'm well traveled, and can generally hold up a conversation on a wide range of topics, so on the other end of the phone, rest assured you'll get more of a response than uh huh, yeah, and what was that.

Running is my first choice of exercise because all you need are the right shoes and off you go, not to mention that business travel cuts into the ability to find a gym. I also love motorcycles and have been riding for 30 years, but I wouldn't say it defines me inasmuch as it's the manner I prefer to get around when it's not 115 degrees outside. I say this not to expect that I'm looking for someone who enjoys riding, or isn't really interested for that matter, but it is something I enjoy.

I'm open to meeting anyone on a friendly basis but when it comes to a long term relationship, smoking is the one area where I won't compromise. I'm also a relatively active person, not perfect by any means, and am looking for someone with a similar healthy lifestyle.

It is funny what a few months on a web site will have you write about yourself when there seems to be two trains of thought that are most requested from you ladies (need someone who knows what they want, and someone who makes me laugh). I found something similar to the next statement sometime back and it seems to fit the bill. Inside me are the makings of a paradox. On the one hand, at times I'm spontaneous, clownish, and amusing, but to make someone laugh is on you. By contrast, I can be intense, introspective, and thoughtful. In other words, a serious, ambitious, and deeply principled side balances my mischievous and playful nature. I am both an optimist and skeptic, and an idealist and gambler, yet always strong when needed. Which side you'll see, well that may just depend whether it's closer to Friday or Monday :) Either way, far too much for the average person to grasp in one look at a website.

I'm really not a big fan of email, chat, IM etc. More than enough of that to keep me busy at work and I consider time a precious commodity that's better spent away from the computer...which I guess is a complete contradiction to online dating, but hey you have to initiate contact somehow, right?.
