I moved here from Germany about 10 years ago and am looking for a partner in my life that I have been missing for a few years now. I travel a lot for work so it's not that easy for me to meet someone.

So, what do I like? I like good food, wine, the beach, design, contemporary art, modern architecture and furniture, music, etc. I also have a passion for horses and nature. I would generally choose a dinner with friends over going out to a bar or a club but I can certainly appreciate hanging out in a lounge or divey place and having a drink or watching a band in a club. I have recently re-discovered seeing bands live and I am absolutely loving it: the bands I have seen range from Echo & the Bunnymen to Devo, Depeche Mode, Royksopp, Morrissey, Simian Mobile Disco, Zero 7 and Pinback, just to give you an idea of my music taste... Even though I might sound serious, I actually like to laugh a lot, so being a bit silly would be good. I also like last-minute trips - there are so many places to explore in this country that I haven't even seen yet! I think New York is a great city and wouldn't mind going there more often if I had someone who would accompany me...

By the way, I'm not restricting myself to a geographic location - I travel a lot and come from a diverse background and I am open to a long distance relationship in the beginning if it means that we are a good match and that there's an option to live at the same place at some point in the near future. With airfares being less expensive nowadays and with me traveling a lot during the week anyway, it doesn't really matter to me where we are both located just as long as we can manage to see each other regularly...

I like my career and my friends would tell you that I'm pretty ambitious - currently working on starting up my own business over the next year. I'm guess I'm looking for someone who has figured out what he wants in life and has his own goals and ambitions. I realize that career is not the absolute fulfillment in life and I really would like to find someone who I can share my life with. Someone I would like to just hang out with and have fun with!! Basically, I'm looking for a someone who knows what he wants in life and appreciates an independent woman on his side as his partner, friend and companion.

It really depends. Probably coffee or a drink for the first date, something uncomplicated and short for the first date. We'll take it from there :-)

By the way, I'm not that big into talking to someone on the phone at length before I even meet them - I prefer meeting for a few hours first to determine if there's some attraction and common interest. It just seems to be working better for me.
