I've been living in Nanaimo for just over a year, by way of a few small towns in Alberta, just about every small town in the Canadian Arctic, and (originally) Southern Ontario.
After the very first night on my luxurious yacht (read: 46' houseboat in Stones Marina), I knew, without a doubt, that Vancouver's coastal waters and seemingly endless backcountry would prove to be the ideal home I had searched so far and wide for.
Unfortunately, my career in the petroleum industry leaves little time to call my own, making any opportunity to visit my Island sanctuary all that much more precious.
I'm hoping this site will help me find an adventurous, free-spirited girl interested in sharing her love of this beautiful land.
If you're of a mind that a month of romance is worth going another month with next-to-none, I'm prepared to offer days full of fun & surprises, relaxing evenings full of great food & occasionally friends, and AT LEAST one weekend a month on the open road -- wherever it may lead us.

I haven't yet found anyone adventurous enough to try the ropes course south of town, but I've heard it's fun. Might be a good ice-breaker. Who knows?
If that's not your thing, we could always sail out to Ladysnake Island to snorkel with the harbour seals, and finish the day with a hike on Newcastle Island & a picnic on Kanaka beach.
Really, as long as we don't find ourselves standing in line at Blockbuster more than once a month, I'll be a happy man.
