Where to start...

Well, I'm not really much for really believing in internet dating, but a few friends have had success on here, so here it goes... I moved out to BC from Ontario about 8 years ago to teach windsurfing, and ended up staying after finishing up a degree in Kingston. Who would want to move back after skiing these mountains and sailing these waters!?

Quick bits about me: I'm educated, well-traveled, family oriented, fit, honest, an outdoor enthusiast, and love spending time laughing with friends and my wonderful family. I'm quite old fashioned, and enjoy doing many of the things for a girl that seem to have fallen by the wayside in today's society - simply a result of how I was brought up by my parents, and watching how well they treat each other. Although I am very empathetic, sensitive, and tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, I do stand up for what I believe in and am very goal-oriented. Hahaha, and even though that all sounds very to-the-point and serious, I usually have a big smile on my face and can often find fun in the mundane. I love laughing, and don't mind being a bit of a goof at times to bring laughter out of any situation...

Quick bits about you: hopefully you are a skier/snowboarder, like being on the water, fit, educated, family oriented, honest, and love to laugh and be spontaneous!

Spare time stuff: I love sailing, and take the time to enjoy alpine skiing, snowboarding, climbing, and waterskiing up at the family cottage with friends and family quite often. I also tend to jet off last minute on tropical windsurfing, surfing, and kiteboarding trips whenever I've got enough time to devote to getting out of the city. They're usually of the backpacking type and staying in hostels, but I do enjoy a fancy hotel from time to time. I'm also currently on a huge Spanish kick, and along with slowly learning the language, I have visited three Latin countries in the past year - what a great culture! In the future, I aim to do a lot of volunteer travel in Latin American countries to help social and environmental groups reach their goals for local community sustainability practices... Random I know, but flying is just the job! If any of what you have read interest you, we just might have a lot of fun together!

It says I should list my taste in music... hard one... right now listening to a lot of Kings of Leon, Zero 7, Van Morrison, Matisyahu, Toots and the Maytals, Manu Chao, Mother Mother, Said the Whale and of course lots of jazz... I'm mostly into indie, folk and folk-rock, house, jazz, and lots of local acoustic stuff... I've always been into music, and I play the guitar, piano, and trumpet... and well, since it's summer now, who can pass up John Mellencamp and David Wilcox over some cold beers in the sunshine? hahaha

I'm still a little skeptical as to what kind of a relationship could be initiated over the internet, but if the right girl ever contacts me, who actually shares some common goals, interests, and visions in life as me, then we'll see where it goes, with no expectations. And please don't think that I only want a girl who does all the outdoor stuff that I do. If you're a skier and open to having fun outdoors then it would be great to hear from you! Friends first to build a solid foundation, then if the chemistry is there, well..... we're only human! I'm not a game-player, so hopefully whoever gets in touch with me isn't either and we'll get off this POF thing and hang out like real people!

Hit up the closest climbing crag, spend a day out on the boat, go skiing/snowboarding, bike or walk the seawall... There are so many options in this great city of ours! (Of course the dream date would be to hop on a plane and head to Maui to surf or windsurf for a few days! haha)
