In a group of people, I am never the center of attention. I am usually the acute observer on the sidelines. Is that good or bad? –I’m not sure. I’m a bookworm, but also spend much time outdoors. I am not outgoing or extroverted; I do much better one-on-one.

I am a Cancer astro sign, not Gemini; that was a mistake. I'm a Monty Python fan. Also enjoy: George Carlin, Stewart/Colbert, Garrison Keillor, Rodney Dangerfield. I am a true Steelers fan (shoot, there goes half of you). -but if they lose a game, it doesn’t ruin my day. I go hiking often and I love being in the woods; but not to the extent of sleeping on the ground. I don't despise winter or rain. I'm interested in the workings and history of government but not necessarily politics. I can spend whole days reading just about anything, then talking about it afterwards...if you want. I know how to give space to a relationship. I have been active with horses most of my life, but last year I sold my horse and will probably be saying goodbye to that world for awhile. I can't imagine life without music, of many types; but that's too big a topic for now. I am committed to a lifestyle of regular exercise, because it feels good to keep my body moving, but can’t call myself an athlete because I am not very competetive. This is starting to sound pretty middle-of-the-road, and I guess I am: you'll have to know me better to find out where I depart from it.

I find most animals adorable, and they bring out my protective instincts. But I treat them as animals; they are not my children. If you dislike cats, or are allergic, we will probably not get along (I have one, I'm not a cat lady...yet!).

I envy men because your clothing only comes in a few shapes to choose from. Also, because no one really expects your feet and legs to look good.

I'm glad I'm female because I can't imagine scraping a razor blade on my face. Also, because no one really expects me to know what I'm doing.

I am looking for a thoughtful communicator; a man who enjoys thinking about the why behind the fact, and can talk or write about it. If you like a certain type of art, activity or sport, can you tell me why, can you let me see it through your eyes?

Confession: I may not be completely, absolutely, 100% done with quitting smoking yet. But I will, and if you could give me a break on that one, it would be appreciated. I promise I don't smell like an ashtray.
