I need a web designer to set up and maintain a web site that will contain compilations of my creative works. Do I have any fans out there with the skills, desire, ability, and time to devote to such a project? (Hey--you don't ask, you don't get! :P )

It is only with the heart that one sees rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

"Develop this good heart, that longs for other beings to find lasting happiness and acts to secure that happiness. Nourish and practice kindness. The Dali Lama has said, 'There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple. My philosophy is kindness.' "
~Sogyal Rinpoche, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying

No decent human being would allow an animal to suffer without putting it out of its misery. It is only to human beings that human beings are so cruel as to allow them to live on in pain, in hopelessness, in living death, without moving a muscle to help them. It is against such attitudes that this book fights.

And On Writing and Poetry...
lipotufu posted this on the poetry forums, and it resonated with me:
"go to the pine if you want to learn about the pine, or to the bamboo if you want to learn about the bamboo. in doing so you must leave your subjective preoccupation with yourself behind. otherwise you will impose yourself on the object and will not actually learn about the pine or the bamboo. in the same way your poetry emerges from you of its own accord when you and the object have become one, when you have plunged deep enough into something to see a hidden glimmer there. however well-phrased your poetry may be if your feeling is not natural - if the object and you as a poet are separate - then your poetry is not true poetry. it is you and not pine or bamboo."
~column by robert milo baldwin, in rain taxi review of books; quoting matsuo basho' translated by jane reichold, with commentary, in her new book "basho, the complete haiku"
