I was lucky to fall in love at a young age. My husband and I truly believed in our marriage vows; in sickness and in health, for richer and poorer, until death.... We were married for 18 years. Throughout our time together we experienced all of these things and we stuck by each other no matter what. Maybe we were old fashioned, but our love helped us through all kinds of hardships. Unfortunately, I did lose my husband to death. He died too young. I became a widow too young. That was 16 years ago. I have searched for that kind of love again, but I have not been so lucky again. I know I cannot replace my husband, but I have so much love to give that I would like to find someone to share it with who could love me back. I am not necessarily looking to get remarried. I am realistic enough to know that people of our age are set in our ways and it is hard to change for someone. But I believe that there is someone out there for me to be close to and share my life with, and who will share their life with me. By age 50 I know we all have our scars from failed relationships. I am no exception. But scars fade with time, and I believe that if we are open to the possibilities that love can conquer all. I am over 50. My mother always called me her big kid, because I never let the child inside of me die. I love to laugh, and play. I walk along the ocean edge with my feet in the water and play with my dog. It would be nice to have someone to hold my hand and walk with me. I miss having someone to cook with and share the chore of doing the dishes together, shopping for groceries together, eating out, and other simple, and intimate times that couples enjoy together.
