Hello and thanks for taking a look at my profile. I have met some incredible women and been on some great dates. I would like to thank those whom I've met and sorry that there wasn't that spark between us.

The time has come for a profile revamp. Sadly enough I have had to resort to subscribing to Eharmony in hopes of finding what I am looking for. In all fairness, it was time to do a serious revamping of this profile being that I still think that there is someone out there for me (and hopefully for you).

To start off, I'll describe what I'm looking for so that you don't have to waste your time reading about me. I guess the number one contact killer (email stopper) will be that I want childern of my own flesh and blood. I have always liked kids and after the birth of my nephew and spending some quality time with my close friends child(ren) I've determined I would like a couple of my own some day. With that said, I have time and I will not rush it just to have them. I applaud all the single moms out there but I find that there are just too many complications from the start. So, with that said please pass me by as I have tried in the past and it has left me feeling dispirited. I would like to focus in on us before bringing children into the equation.

Now, for those few whom are still reading I'm looking for long term commitment. I have always questioned putting long term as opposed to friendship/dating as most seem to think that when you put long term it means that your exlusively theirs from the first time you meet. On the flip side I'm trying to eliminate those who are taking this half heartedly. Those just looking for a rebound or just on here cause it's the cool thing to do these days can pass me by. I really am looking for my best friend whom will remain by my side till death do us part. Course, it'll have to start off with a date or two. That does take time to build so patience is a must.

Thirdly, I'm hoping you have a preference to the country stars as opposed to the city lights. Ironic isn't it that most online daters (tech savy people) live in the bright lights. I'll admit I've lived in cities before but after years of trying I've found myself to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of living life on a grid road.

Now that the meat and potatoes is out of the way, here are some other "preferences". Mid 20's to early 30's (course, pending on maturity level). Shorter than me ( Between 5' to 5'8" ). Body type range between slender, athletic to a slightly curvy build. Not looking for skin and bones, nor someone whom is deemed obese. I may be considered shallow for saying this but I do feel a physical attraction is a must between both parties. Looking for a nice smile and a more natural look. Not big on make-up but do like a lady who takes pride in her appearance. Non-smoker or very occasional smoker as I have quit smoking (5 months and counting) after 13+ years. I still light up on rare occasions (usually flavoured cigars) when there is a bit of alcohol involved such as at bachelor parties or weddings but at most, maybe two within the evening.

Now for the personality. I guess easygoing and a fun loving attitude would be beneficial. A good rapport with their family and friends. Adventureous, open minded, and somewhat independent. An optimist as I am a realist (not a pessimist as the two tend to be confused) and it's nice to have someone counterbalance my realism. Course, with that said if your heads in the clouds 24/7 than we probably won't mesh well either. Someone who enjoys routine but isn't religious about it as I enjoy a mix of spontaneity and routine. An added bonus would be someone active and enjoys a bit of sport or recreation. Not necessarily competive. Just something other than Reading, T.V. and Movies.

Now with all that said, please don't feel discouraged as I don't expect to find someone exactly like that. Obviously there is room in certain areas that I'm willing to accept differences as I realize I'm not everyone's cup of tea either.

Alright, amazingly enough if your still reading this I think you already have an idea as to what I'm about. My general summarization would be a Typical Heterosexual Southpaw Taurus Countryboy with a bit of a Twist. I tend to be a bit on the serious side. However, I do know how to relax and have a good time. I'm rational and sensible and very rarely will I loose my temper (little bit of road rage on occasion). On the humourous side I'm sarcastic and witty. I keep active with hockey (approx. 3x's a week), skiing, slo-pitch, rollerblading, walks and golf. Will admit there is room for improvement as I have packed on a bit of weight since quitting smoking. I tend to mix it up as I am usually clean shaven and short hair but I sometimes tend to let it grow out for a while. Especially around hunting season. I enjoy many activities as listed in my interests. Don't let some of them intimidate you if you feel there is that initial spark. I just believe that there should be honesty from the start.

I work at a career where I am home every night. There is a chance of travel on occasions. If your looking for a support daddy that will dissapear into the bush for weeks at a time keep looking as I'm not him. That said, I'm cautious with my money. I like to find an equal balance of spending and saving. I live for today but still put away for tomorrow.

I previously stated that I never initiated contact. I have found that I'm limiting my opportunities so have decided that I am going to pursue who I think may be of interest to me and I hope that I can be of interest to you. Rejection can be a tough pill to swallow but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Tired of sitting on the sidelines hoping to get picked.

P.S. Have wheels will travel. Sorry but those limited to pedal bike / public transportation / parents chaperone should probably pass me by as I do live on a dirt road apprx. 45 minutes south of Edmonton. I am not looking for a one way street.

Now for a sense of my sarcastism and what can be a dry sense of humour. Don't worry if it applies to you cause now only you and me will know about it.....lol. Also, I'm guilty as charged with a few of these as well. If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at.

Photos:
1. The Oldies. Photos taken 5+ years ago in a effort to appeal to those that are younger or showing off the "what I used to look like". Guilty - the photo of my tan was taken 5 years ago. I miss that tan ****sighs****.

2. The Friends/Group shot as a profile photo. Use friends "better than average" looks to lure views in hopes of being mistaken. Worst is when it is not even clarified in the captions or in the profile. Try responding to an email and not even know which one your actually corresponding with. If I wanted to talk with someone random I'd call a 1.900 number. Great little tool called cropping - works well. Guarenteed at least one of your friends should know how to use it.

3. The Bar Star shots. All photos consist of all the same dress/clothing from one evening or they consist of an alcoholic beverage in every picture. I guess if your looking for a bar star to join you than why not right?

4. The Distance shot. Photo taken from 50 yards away where you can maybe make out a set of arms and legs, chest and a dot for a face. Hiding a pimple or a blemish? Maybe it'll disappear between now and when we meet? or are you aiming to attracting those that keep a 15 foot distance at all times?

5. The Fake Ownership. Posing in front of xbf's / friend's restored car, exotic car, crotch rocket, quad, snowmobile or jacked up rig rocket. And that impresses me how?

6. The NO Photo - Hiding something. At least if one is sent as a private photo than somewhat exusable. Just curious as to what happens if both parties don't have a photo? Possible that maybe your talking to your cousin? maybe your own brother / sister? Wouldn't that be awkward when you met up eh.

These are just observations after being on here for as long as I have. If it makes you feel any better, feel free to critize mine.
