Ok, if you have no sense of humour, you stopped and left after reading the opening line. That's good. Now, for those who remain, let's proceed. I'm tired of being alone, but too shy to meet people. I want to find a friend first, not jump into a relationship right away; let things develop as they may, nothing forced. And if nothing else develops, having a new friend is always good.
Ignore the "Smarts" listing above. I have a community college diploma, but that isn't one of the available choices, oddly enough.
I have an offbeat, sarcastic - and often dark - sense of humour.
I am very open-minded, and difficult to shock. My favourite comedians, for whatever that might tell you about me, are George Carlin, Lewis Black, Ron James, and Rita Rudner. I support legalizing pot and
much harsher penalties for drunk driving.
I am not now, nor have I ever been, a morning person. My totem is the owl, with good reason.
I am honest, sometimes bluntly so, and speak my mind openly; I recognize no sacred cows, and have never learned the art of telling people what they want to hear. But while I do value honesty over diplomacy, I also try not to be deliberately insulting or cruel.
I love science, especially physics, and enjoy speculating on the nature of gravity, time and space. Hey, it's easier to understand than
human behaviour..... although I do also sometimes delve into political/social/economic theory. Books are my life. Most of my time is spent reading; I have over 1700 books at home. I graduated from the Accounting program at NBCC on the honour roll, but aside from that, I'm pretty much self-educated; I read according to whatever has caught my interest at the moment, and I'm interested in almost everything. I may not know much about anything, but I know a little about a lot of things.
My music collection includes a lot of Beatles and Doors, as well as Chicago, CCR, Eagles, Trooper - old rock, but there's a wide range of other stuff, from Mozart and Liona Boyd to Weird Al. You'll never catch me listening to opera (except maybe Gilbert & Sullivan) or hiphop, and I seldom listen to contry when I'm sober or bluegrass ever, but anything else is fair game. I also enjoy a wide range of movies, from "Citizen Kane" to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
What I
don't want to meet...... well, no Oprah-holics or Philaphiles; a brain is required. I'm hoping to meet an intelligent, open-minded, assertive and honest woman who knows what she wants and speaks her mind. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm looking for a dominatrix, ok?
I am permanently unemployed due to an ongoing disability, so if you're looking for a sugar daddy, move on. I am a regular blood donor, and that's very important to me; it also means no casual sex. I do have a high interest in sex, but that doesn't mean I'd do anybody, any time. I have never in my life had a one-night stand, and don't intend to.
