I quote movie lines in conversation, sing karaoke, and go topless at the beach. I love ice cream and veggies equally. Mmm... asparagus and spinach. I'll dance at the bar or ballroom. I've had Bob Marley, Billy Joel, Tribe, and pre-Fergie BEP on permanent repeat since '92. I love to cook and always over do it. I'm an islander, the beach is home... fishing, volleyball, kayak, swim, sleep, read--RINSE AND REPEAT.

I have a fascination with people. I find everyone interesting to watch and their stories amazing to hear. This is not to be confused with a staring problem. OK fine, I have staring problem! But take comfort that I never scrutinize bodies or attire. That wouldn't be very nice. If the world spent more time reading books versus people, it would be a better place. It's rare for me to dislike someone.

I'm not particularly athletic (I'm actually an embarrassment), nonetheless the trunk of my car looks like Sports Authority and my bike rack is a permanent fixture on the Batmobile. I fall off my mountain bike entirely too much. I love to be outdoors whether it's hiking, tennis, bball, gardening, or just laying in the grass with a good read. It's good to get your hands dirty.

I hate pants so I live in dresses. You always look put together in a dress, but the truth is I picked it off my floor this morning. I'm surprisingly ungirly for someone who loves dresses. Often resulting in my mother offering to buy me makeup or a hair brush, but I prefer the extra sleep. Just let your hair live it's life!

As for work... Caring for the sick, poor, elderly, and destitute as Nurse Emily. I've been told that I was born maternal and fully domesticated so I find my work to be a good fit.

I'm normally the commitment type--needy, but more so givey (that's not a word, but you get it right?). But as of late, I get a bit of anxiety after date three. BACK up off me, son! I'm a serial monogamist gone casual. I will admit when I'm wrong. Can you do the same? I believe the ability to say sorry is the greatest virtue. If I like you, I may sneak a touch or two in public ;) I am easily angered, but more easily consoled... so let's hug it out.

As for a partner: Think quixotically. It's important to touch base, but be wary of the fine line of smothering. I want to be friends with your friends, not just people that have to play nice. I think it's sexy when guys fix things and take initiative. Men should be men. Show me a little machismo but lots of respect. Modest is hottest--in demeanor, lifestyle, dress, etc. I appreciate old fashioned courting. I bet the decrease in traditional dating practices is proportional to the increased divorce rate. I prefer those who are placid to balance out my fieriness, but at the same time strong enough to put me in my place when I get out of hand. I admire those who are reserved, but not uncomfortable or shy. Let's include one another in all aspects of life, but respect the boundaries of alone time. Just be cool! Get up and dance without having to drink heavily or grind all over me. A hott date would take me to the groceries, confab while cooking, open a bottle of wine, and wrestle (hint: pretend to let me win).

NOTE: If we met in a bar and hit it off after talking for a few minutes I would give you my number. I wouldn't give you my email then gradually progress to my screename until I felt you deserved my number then chat for few more days while we both wonder if we'll ever meet and risk the chance of losing interest or worse creating extravagant expectations of one another . That's why God invented bars and coffee shops!
