“Unique” Aka Kenny: Kenneth Moreno

Born on April 2nd, 1984 in Richmond, Texas; Son of Robert and Mary Moreno. Retired U.S. Marine as of June 2006; attended ITT Tech getting his Bachelors Degree In Criminal Justice.

Kenny Moreno was raised in the city of Lake Jackson, Texas where he grew up. As time progressed and he got older, music became a way of escaping the pressures life could throw at you. When graduation came for Kenny he decided that school wasn’t in his future so he Enlisted into the U.S. Military.

June 9th, 2002 Kenny left for the Marine Corp where he would spend 3 months in San Diego Boot camp proceeding onward to Camp Pendleton where he trained as a Infantry Man. Once basic training complete Kenny would face the most gruelling challenges he had ever faced.

After shipping off to Iraq with 1st Battalion 4th Marines Charlie Company for OIF 1 (Operation Iraqi Freedom), music had crept back into his life. It was here where Kenny changed from a boy to a man. He would find himself in heavy combat gaining a Combat Action Ribbon for combat. For 10 months he would hide from the realities of his surrounding by listening to music. Eventually listening wasn't enough, and the desire to write took over. With a notepad and pen Kenny would write every free chance he had till he was home.

As writings progressed, his desire became fueled with an interested in recording some of his material. This would not happen right away however as his current circumstances would prevent him from providing the necessary focus needed to create songs.

Once his tour of duty had completed, Kenny fell victim to the harsh reality of many who served in the Marines, Army, Reserves had fallen into themselves. The trauma of the experience would be a life altering event for a majority of those that served over seas in the War on Terror. It wasn't easy for this aspiring artist to transition back into civilian life from serving in Iraq. Kenny would only have 6 months to relax in the states before he was sent off again to Iraq for another 10 months. this action would only deepen his already growing problem. Once In Iraq Kenny again relied on the creation of music and his writings to get him through the tough times of Iraq

June 10, 2006 Kenny was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp. He was soon thereafter diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). With all the troubled time he was going through Kenny found it hard to bounce out of his funk. He would enroll in ITT Tech for Criminal Justice where he got his Degree.

Life continued its dramatic path, however a familiar escape was reconjured. Music would fill his heart and soul and would become a vessal for relief of all life's trials and tribulations. He knew that the pursuit wouldn't be easy considering he didn't know much about the industry of music. However his love for something so simple and pure would be the driving force behind his music.

An attitude of, "I don't care to be the best. I won't knock it if I'm that person, but I just want to have fun, reach a few people, and make music!"

The war would not be forgotten and would later be talked about in such tracks as "Time Of Our Lives", and future unreleased titles. The attitude of having fun can be found in tracks like "All Night". The heartfelt lyrics, deep messages, and fun party tracks became a release for any and all emotion that found itself boiling inside. Before the explosion a release was filtered into his writings, and finally in the studio. As a result, Unique was formed. Because of the perspective offered, which is unlike any other out there, and the approach of different sounds and open-ness to new music, defined Kenny allowing him to create such a character.

Along with the degree acquired, Unique has chosen to try to reach people with his message. With music being Kenny’s number one medication he has learned to use it for the better. With Kenny’s Original Style from lyrics to performance Kenny has shown to himself, and his fans, that he has what it takes to a viable artist in music.

Well its easy to describe me so here it is. Im easy to get along with i steer away from all the drama aspects in life and look for happier thiings in life. Life to short to trip on the little stuff. Also keep it real and you will know the realness you get back..
