Hi. My name is Jim and I'm a 37 year old single man living in Great Neck, NY. I'm originally from NJ, but haven't lived there in quite some time. I spent most of my time living in the south-east while serving in the US Army, as well as quite a few overseas locations. I've never been married and have no children, but I'm definitely open to both in the future.

I'm looking for a woman who is comfortable with herself. She should like to try new things and enjoy being active. During the summer I'm either riding, playing volleyball, or by the pool. In the winter I'm snowboarding and like to catch up on my movies. I like to travel and take day trips, whether it's here in the city or down to DC for the weekend. I'm well traveled, having visited or lived in 18 countries so far (and looking forward to adding more to my list). I have a pretty open mind and will try just about anything once. I am willing to work at any relationship if it feels right, and would really like the woman in my life to be my best friend as well as lover. It sounds cliche, but I think it's absolutely true.

I currently work in law enforcement, having ended my tour in the military in Jan 06. I have a Bachelors degree in Professional Aeronautics and I'm working on my Master's in Criminal Justice with a Graduate Certificate in National Security Studies.

I also recently purchased a 2010 Look Road Bike. I'm enjoying the warm weather as it lasts and cycling as much as possible. I'm always up for a cycle partner to join me on the Cross Island trail. I'm hoping to enter a triathlon or two in the future.

I'm usually pretty open on first date activities. I like something relaxing, maybe a casual dinner or drinks where we can get to know each other without any pressure. Maybe take a walk around Manhattan in the spring or fall when it's not too hot. A first date can be as casual as meeting at Starbucks for a coffee and a chat. I'm definitely all about non-pressure and creating a relaxing environment.
