I try to be guided by beauty as much as reason...a by product of art school no doubt, but it keeps me balanced in our technology driven world.

I take a lot of pleasure in coincidences and unexpected observations. Its life's little surprises that are fullest for seeing new ways to live and grow. Like there was that time when I was 10 years old in my backyard in Omaha, and I was playing with Marty and Danny. Marty was going to be the pterodactyl and Danny and I were the cave men...so we went into my dad's tool shed (our cave) and waited for Marty to attack. We heard him making dinosaur noises outside...like...rraagh and eeearrrk. And we waited and waited, but Marty never attacked the shed, so Danny and I went outside and saw Marty hanging upside-down from the clothesline post, his pants hooked on a bolt, with about twenty bees stinging him. He was yelling, yeeark, yeeearrrg! I ran to the hose to spray away the bees while Danny climbed up to unhook Marty's pants.

So you see the lesson here is...um...O.K. I guess there is no lesson here, but it was a d*mn funny thing that happened one day and, you know, you just have to be ready for things to be different from what you already thought they were.

It really is the most wonderful thing about being alive, wouldn't you agree? I find that drawing conclusions too quickly is always a barrier to discovering new things.

I'd like to meet a woman who can occasionally look at familiar things for the first time, or at least has a high tolerance for a guy who does. Bonus points for being able to be on the receiving end of unconditional love, willing to sample my kitchen experiments, and having a mind and speaking it.

I want to find myself at the end of life with good friends, a full belly, and lots of stories. I won't even mind if you deliver the punch lines. After all, if we lived them together, why shouldn't we tell them together.
