Though I've been living here for five years now, I'm not very "Calgarian." I'd rather trawl used bookstores than go skiing, I'd rather go out for Thai than poke at a tin pot over a campfire, and a night of Guitar Hero sounds way more fun to me than a Flames game. If you're less about the stinky outdoors and more about urban diversions, I'd like to hear from you.

I'm an overeducated vegetarian who would probably be considered "politically left of centre" by Canadian standards and "raging pinko commie" by Albertan ones. I vacillate wildly between pretentious (literary theory, dead languages, bands nobody's heard of) and silly (Adult Swim cartoons, computer games, lolcats).

I'd like to meet someone who is articulate, creative, curious, and well-read, but who doesn't take all that as an excuse to be maladjusted and socially awkward.

Our first date will definitely be a textual one: if you're completely incapable of expressing yourself in writing, I won't be interested in pursuing anything further. After that, a coffee? A movie? Whatever it is, I hope to come home having laughed a lot and learned something new.
