There's really no right way to do this, and lots of ways to do it wrong. So, what the hell... it is what it is. If you aren't willing to dig deeper, nothing I can say will help you.
I recently moved to NH to fulfill my dream of escaping from the academic career path I'd been on to join the world of industry. Unfortunately, there are rather few people out here in the woods, so to increase my chances of finding someone reasonably satisfying to hang out with, I'm putting up this embarrassing profile. I've spent most of my life in one city or another, so I very much appreciate a relatively cosmopolitan woman.

Summers, you'll usually find me either riding or working on one or another motorcycle (two are single-seaters, so I'm not exactly real big into forcing you to be my passenger unless you want to). Winters, you'll find me snowboarding whenever I can.

I work sort of hard. All work and no play... Work smarter, not harder, etc.
I play quite hard some days, but other days I just enjoy being lazy.

I read too much non-fiction and not enough fiction, but there's only so much time and there's so much to learn.
I'm pretty much an equal-opportunity type in terms of relationships, but I do have an education, so you can't be too easily intimidated or we might not get along very well. Not being arrogant, just being honest; this has been a difficult issue in the past.
I am honest and loyal, and I insist on finding someone truly capable of the same.
I'm not here looking to get laid, and even if you wanted to, I wouldn't sleep with you on a first date. That said, I have an extremely healthy appetite in the context of an exclusive relationship.
I'll play scrabble, backgammon, pool, or darts with you anytime. Maybe even chess.
I'm a quiet drunk (although I can be quite gregarious in good company).
I'm good at plotting escapes, but have more fun with a companion.

First date? No thanks. Let's just go out as friends and if it turns into a date, great. If it doesn't, no harm no foul, right? These dating sites are hit or miss from experience, so I think a first date should be casual but hopefully close to a place where an extended first date (or a quick escape, haha) is possible. My ideal first date would be grabbing a drink at an interesting bar/brewery, or something equivalent--an event of some sort, a cup of coffee... whatever. If we click, I expect that we'll be doing a lot of talking, so whatever happens next will be pretty off-the-cuff. Best to just try to be in a place where there are a few options. I'm not the type who thinks first dates should be taken too seriously.
