I love scuba diving, so a dating site with the name "Plenty of Fish" appeals to me.

I am a movie buff (I watch all kinds, including foreign) with a large movie collection. I love to read and listen to most types of music. I have loved photograpy for a long time (most especially underwater photography).

I am 57 years old, brown hair, blue eyes, 6' tall. Height and weight proportionate. I don't smoke and never have. Most people think I look a lot younger than I am. A woman I dated said that I looked like Russell Crowe. I don't see the resemblence myself, but I was very flattered. You will have to judge for yourself.

I am divorced, and have been for over 7 years. I was married (just once) for 27 years. I have two children who are out of the house (although my son who is just getting started after college tends to boomerang back for a short time now and again.) I own my own home, have a steady job, money in the bank and own my own vehicle.

I am looking for that one special person for a long term relationship, but they're very hard to find. I'd like to find someone who doesn't know just how beautiful she really is.

I work in a factory, so that makes me blue collar, I suppose, although I am educated and like the finer things. I'm not Joe Sixpack, so if your idea of a good time is Nascar, beer and bowling you should take a pass. You should know that I love Classical music, Shakespeare and I will read almost anything.

I'm not big into sports, and watch very little TV.

Guilty pleasures include The Princess Bride, Like Water for Chocolate, Joan of Arcadia and Romancing the Stone. I also like just about anything by Kurosawa, Jeunet, Shyamalan, and Bergman, as well as most cheesy monster movies.

Favorite books: Catch-22, Love in the Time of Cholera, The Brothers K, Of Time and the River, the Burke novels of Andrew Vachss, and a host of others.

I could tell you a lot more about myself, but in the end they're just words, and it's your behavior that counts. All I ask regarding me is that you judge for yourself, based on the facts. You have to like me for the person I am, otherwise, what's the point?

I plan to just be myself from the outset, so you can see me warts and all, with no big surprises on down the line.

I have been an amateur photographer for many years, and love to take photos of anything I consider beautiful or interesting. That usually means Nature and the Natural World.

I am currently working on becoming a divemaster, with the long term goal of working in the dive industry, hopefully at some exotic foreign location. I am deathly tired of shoveling snow...

I don't have any preconceived notions for a first date. I think that that should be negotiated between the people setting the date up. Although I love movies, I don't know if going to a movie is the ideal first date.

I think going somewhere outdoors where you can walk and talk is a good idea. After all, getting to know someone is the goal of dating, isn't it? What better way to do that than talking.
