I recently found myself unemployed after working 70 hours a week for the last 11 years, so I am going back to school and starting over. It's interesting, starting over after all this time. I would have always thought that this would be horrible, but from the very first day of the new life (or adventure, as it may be) I've been hopeful and excited. Destiny takes over sometimes and we don't travel the path that we originally thought that we would take. Now destiny took over again and I'm getting to start over on the path that I thought I would take years ago. It's amazing and exciting, and it's given me a fresh look on the world.
So I'm now going back to school. Destiny has always been pretty good to me, I've hit a few bumps in the road, but I've got everything I need and people that care about me, so I will trust destiny again and see where it takes me.
The amazing thing is how happy and relaxed I find myself lately. I say hello to strangers and I'm friendly. I'm enjoying spending time creating & designing again. I'm hopeful and open. It's odd to suddenly realize that you weren't that way before- stress had taken over my life and I didn't really have one anymore. I feel like I'm getting a second chance at everything. (I've always been so determined and driven. I never realized that there's nothing wrong with 'relaxed and happy'!)
I hope that eventually means a second chance at love also! I am slow to start anything, and sometimes that scares a guy off. I want to be friends first. Oh- don't get me wrong, I can be passionate and sexual attraction is VERY IMPORTANT to me (well, cause otherwise, what's the point?) but if we don't have a mental connection, there's nothing to pursue.
Of course, to me, that's the best part--- sexual tension and excitement between two people while they learn everything about each other, each new facet of their life & relationship building with anticipation. . . maybe I'm a hopeless romantic. *sigh*

I love to go camping & hiking. I love the outdoors and the water- so summertime is the best season for me. Sometimes I load up the truck and take my sons (14 and 15) and all their friends camping. I can be quite a country girl, but don't get me wrong- I think I clean up pretty good too!
I love to dress up and go out- I have a shoe collection that rivals Amelda Marcos, and because I think I'm short (5'3") I wear heels nearly all the time. I love live music, great comedy, to play roulette, to go dancing ANYWHERE (can you two step? I'm not really that great, but I promise, if you can lead, I can keep up all night long!) and pretty much anything else about a great night on the town!
When the time comes that we are close enough (I have to be really comfortable with someone first, this is a vulnerable position for me) then I love to cuddle up on the couch and watch a good movie. I've been told I'm a great cook and I enjoy spoiling those that I care about! (all of my friends! I'm not just talking about a man in my life-- I guess I can be the "mother hen" of the group)

I'm very open & honest. I don't believe in playing games and I believe life is too short to beat around the bush!
Family is the most important thing in the world to me. My boys are my entire world. I'm not looking for a man to step into their lives as a father-figure--more important to me is finding a man that realizes that they are my top priority and would NEVER want it any other way. I can assure you, I would NEVER step between a man & his children, and it would be important to me that you feel that way too!
MY family is completely dysfunctional-- both parents have been divorced and re-married more than once and I have more step/half siblings than you'll ever be able to keep up with! As complicated as they all are, though, I love them all at least most of the time! ;)
I'm usually attracted to slender guys with beautiful eyes. It's not a deal-breaker, of course, it's the emotional connection that will count in the long run, but some attraction has to be there! And, I don't want to be thought of as a 'cougar' but I find that I have more in common with younger men. Guys my age & older have settled into their lives and can be a little boring. They're comfortable to hang out at home drinking a beer and watching re-runs on TV. I don't have ANYTHING against this--- I do it myself BUT NOT EVERYDAY!!! Life is still out there--- carpe diem!!!

I notice that they tell you to talk about your taste in music so I have to write something here. I LOVE MUSIC. Almost all music. My CD case and my mp3 player run the gamot of styles and have a little of everything. I love great vocals, and beautiful melodies and any beat that moves you inside your heart and soul. I believe that music is the common thread that runs the world, bringing us all together and expresses our thoughts and emotions better than words have ever been able to do! If we could communicate through melodies and beats instead of words & sentences, I believe that more of our passion and our love would be understood, and we wouldn't have so much hate and pain in the world.

On a first date, I need to be able to talk and get to know that person. Maybe hang out in a park or go on a hike or just sit at a coffee shop. On a first date, I want to be in a setting that helps me get to know that person. Take me to do something that you like to do- so that I can get to know what makes you tick! I think I'm a pretty versatile person that LOVES to learn new things! I think everyday could be an adventure. I have a 'bucket list' that I wrote long before that movie ever came out-300 things to do before I die--- and I've not even knocked out a third of them. It would be exciting to meet someone that would be up for the adventure of working on that list.
