I thought that singles came on this place to find someone to spend their lives with, but all I find are scammers, hookers, flakes, and game players; not anyone serious about meeting in person. If you're not one of those, prove me wrong! (Added 2009/10/04: Only 3 women have challenged this, but none matched whom I seek. Does this mean I'm correct?)

Please don't be looking for a "partner in crime." The last woman I met here meant that literally - 9+ felonies (committed in my presence). I had enough of that when I was a government agent in the 90's (my former job). I don't like arresting my dates!

As of 2007/08/14, I'm rabbitless. However, I like pets (dogs, cats, ... furry things). Snakes creep me out. Lizards, turtles, and other reptiles ok.

I not only work for myself but BY myself, and that makes it even more difficult to meet someone. In January 2005, I hadn't thought that it would come to this (online dating), but I really want a family - and have forced myself to do whatever it takes. As for why I'm haven't married (previously, or at all), I never found the right lady but found plenty of wrong ones. I'm not concerned about age as long as your biological clock isn't in alarm mode. This does mean that my ultimate goal includes long-term, but that's not exhaustive.

I'm not really one for describing myself, but if my family/friends were to reduce me to my most important personality trait, the word used would be responsible, with intelligent not far behind. I do have a strong sense of humor; some may say bordering on obnoxious, depending on how clever a joke may be. Being self-employed in a mainly seasonal trade/business gives me an abundance of free time to do what I want during the off-peak season (May-December). I'm not hesitant to take charge in a situation. I included the 1984 picture because my nose was broken in a work-related accident in 1987 and has a different appearance now. No drugs and only traffic violations (no tickets for 13 years) in my past.

You: I'm not certain I really have a single type; I'll know you when I see you. In my past, I have found it easier to date those younger than myself. I'm not certain why things worked out as such, but it's a trend that I'm not likely to break - but every rule has an exception. Non-smoker a must (it bothers me) unless I contacted you (if you are on my favorites list, then that counts).

Commitment: There's a tricky word! I do not fear [eventual] marriage. Never married but "been down the aisle" once - to "get rid of" my mother at her 2nd. However all too often, I been involved with a few women who probably should have BEEN committed [at taxpayer expense].

It really depends on the other person - You expect me to make ALL the decisions - WITHOUT knowing you? I can if that's what you want - but a date involves two people and I'm only one. Dinner, a movie, or if an afternoon, lunch, mini-golf, or hiking the trails of the canyon I live in are all starter possibilities (but such is NOT an exhaustive list). Afternoons are probably better, but keep that night free for a date extension if we agree and click. However, to be a pleasurable experience for both, a "meeting that doesn't count" so we can get to know each other better may be the way to go - then we can plan the one that does count together.
