I'm a tall (6’2”) and active guy who has seen a great deal of the world and experienced a lot of things. I have many interests and I'm always looking for something new to broaden my knowledge and horizons. When I find faults and/or fears in myself, I look for ways to eliminate or deal with them. I'm a very fun guy to be around. I'm fairly well educated and constantly learning. I recently retired, after 20 years, from the Air Force and now work as an organization and strategy consultant. I’m not perfect, but I’m not going to lie about my imperfections…some things we can change and others we just learn to live with.

I'm a professional with goals and aspirations and I’m dedicated. In a relationship, the two become greater when combining their efforts--not one riding the coattails of the other. I’m not looking for someone who is rich and famous, nor am I looking for someone that needs their decisions made for them. I’ve been successful and I know that money isn't everything when it comes to success.

Chemistry is extremely important...I wouldn't say there is a certain "look" that I go for, but finding someone appealing is important. We all have things we like and find attractive and often they’re hard to explain, but you know it when you see it.

I may not be the most physically fit person in the world (I try), but I do take care of myself (mentally and physically) and I desire that of my partner. Being with someone that takes care of them self actually motivates me to work harder and I would like to have a workout partner in my life.

I love the game of golf. Both of my parents play golf and they play together at times--I like it. I like to walk when I play.

I'm not hung up on age (plus or minus) and if you aren't then we'll get along fine. It’s how old you act that interests me, not how old you actually are.

I’m someone that shows intimacy in public (i.e., holding hands, hugging, and kissing).

If you have children already, that’s fine, but I'm not looking for us to start a new family.

I like to dine out and I'm what I refer to as an adventurous eater--I like to try new places to eat and new dishes all the time.

I like local live music, so we would have to enjoy that together. I actually like most music (not Rap and Heavy/Thrash Metal), but here in San Antonio I tend to listen to live Jazz, Blues, Indie, and Texas Music. There are several places I know to go for live music and I follow lots of local bands. I’m not as much into large-scale concerts at places like the Verizon or AT&T Center, but I’ve been known to go.

I've been a big volunteer for many years and have worked with lots of organizations...usually at the leadership levels. That means I spend a lot of free time volunteering at times and travel on occasion for reasons related to volunteering.

I've lived in or visited 44 US states and several countries (mostly in Europe)--I’ve not been to the Pacific yet. I like to travel and always leave my options open regarding moving as my job might take me somewhere new (as might yours).

I like the outdoors, especially doing things like hiking, camping, and canoeing.

I belong to a couple of local wine groups and do wine tastings a few times a month and I’ve been to several vineyards. If I’m drinking beer, I normally like Dos XX, Bud Light, or a German wheat beer. My favorite mixed drinks are Margaritas, vodka and Red Bull, or vodka and cranberry juice.

I'm not a smoker, but on occasion, I like a good cigar either on the golf course or at a cigar bar around town.

I have a cat and generally love animals--I’ve had several dogs/cats over the years as well as a horse, fish, and a couple of ferrets. Cats just seem to work for my single life right now as they are easy for me to take care of.

I’m not a religious person, but I don’t have an issue with someone who is--I don’t judge, I just don’t participate.

I easily make friends and I’m very social most of the time when I go out…I excel at networking. I’m not a very jealous person and tend toward honesty to a fault. Since I’m easily social in group situations, I look for that quality in my partner.

First dates are for meeting somewhere public and safe. Depending on your interests, it might be a wine bar in town, maybe some place like Chili's, or possibly an event where a lot of people would be at. The whole idea, I would think, that the first date should be (in online dating) is to actually see each other face to face and see if there is any chemistry.

Second dates should be reserved for somewhere fun and romantic...maybe a series of places around town where we can have a good meal, enjoy some good music, and relax and talk.
