It's pretty simple - I'm very self sufficient and happy with my life. I have good friends and family, a great career and home. I enjoy amazing trips (last trip was a catamaran yacht in the British Virgin Islands. We won't dwell on the HURRICANE that hit while I was there!) and I also love staying at home and watching a movie or working out. I adopted 2 cats a couple of years ago when they were tiny kittens, and they act more like dogs (they play fetch, and one flushes the toilet). I scuba dive and have a salt water fish tank. (Actually, I have the tank, the fish not so much. I had a power surge and the filter shut off and my poor fishies got no oxygen...) I enjoy a variety of music - mainly indie rock/folk but my collection is pretty broad, and my reading tends to favor thrillers. I'd like to meet someone who is intelligent, honest, and interested in dating with the potential for a relationship. I'm interested in having fun, but not in playing mind games so please be who you say you are. Please be an unmarried, non-smoker. It's fine if you have kids.

If you're serious about getting to know me, here are a few suggestions (after being on this site for a little while): Please send me an email that shows me that you are actually interested in ME (not just a canned message you cut and paste to everyone, or just "hi" with no hint that you've even read my profile). You've seen current pictures of me. It's only fair I see what you look like (and I mean now, not 20 years ago). If your profile doesn't have pics, please attach to your email or let me know you will send to me (and actually do it!) If you mark me as a "favorite", but don't email me, don't expect me to miraculously come running after you. That's not how it works in real life; it doesn't work that way on the internet either. I'm happy to reply to you if you take the time to write to me.

I am a believer in chemistry. We can appreciate what we have to say on the computer or even on the phone, but until we meet in person, we won't know if there is the potential for physical attraction. And for me, that is essential for moving forward. So I would view our first meeting as something brief like getting a cup of coffee and maybe taking a walk. If we thought there was some potential, then we could make a date, which I would consider to be our real "first date". That could have a lot more possibilities depending on the time of the year and our mutual interests - we'll talk.
