Who I am: (isn't that a country song?) I'm a self employed lawyer with a relatively new law practice in downtown Saginaw. I'm a reliable and honest to a fault individual who believes in living purposefully but not wastefully. The people I choose to surround myself with are very important to me and I would do anything for them but I won't surround myself with people who are not good for me or who take advantage of me.

I tend to enjoy working on my house a lot lately and trying to cook things at home, although I'm not sure it's safe for people to eat yet. I'm up for doing/trying most things although my day to day life would not be described as being that exciting, unless you count cutting through live electrical lines. I'm not exceedingly close to my family, I keep my private life private, but I do enjoy seeing them when time permits as they do not live in the area.
My sense of humor is best described and sarcastic and dry. I appreciate the clever and the witty.

In a match I'm looking for someone genuinely nice who is looking forward and not backwards. Someone who has goals and ambitions not just for their career but for the day to day living. I'm also looking for someone who does not have a completely generic profile and actually puts some thought into things. While I am open to dating single mothers, it is unlikely I'm going to consider dating someone with 3 or 4 kids, just being honest, also if you do not want any or more children I am not going to date you. I'd prefer you have a job or a plan to get one and understand what the word "exercise" means, if you weigh more than I do I'm going to pass. I am not trying to be mean but after being on this site for a while it gets fairly discouraging and I do not wish to waste my time or yours.

Also if I contact you first, I'm probably not trying to hit on you, I don't know you at all and maybe once I know more about you I'll hit on you or not, depends if you seem like a good person.

I have one disclaimer, it is very unlikely I would consider moving out of the immediate area. My life is essentially here, this is where my practice is, this is where I call home. There's certainly room for more in this big old house. If you're not open to moving to this area then it's not going to work out long term barring some unforeseeable event. There's always the exception, but it would be very tough for me to move too far for professional licensing reasons and others.

I think a good first date is either dinner and conversation or a walk somewhere if its warm. You should be able to get to know someone without being distracted by something like a movie.
