They say this about love and they say that about love, but who are they? And why do they keep talking?

I've never been one to follow the crowd or to care a great deal about what talking heads say. I'm secure within myself and I'm comfortable in most any situation. But I'm not arrogant, conceited or obnoxious. I don't pretend to be what I'm not and I don't play head games or lead people on. Pretty serious stuff, huh?

Actually, I spend far more time laughing and joking than anything else. I believe that life is brief, so we should make the most of it while we're here. And I have. I've had a lot of incredible experiences and met some fascinating people. But I lack the one thing that can make it all so much better...the woman who is perfect for me! And if she's perfect for me, than in my eyes, she's perfect altogether. Does that sound corney? Probably.

But the truth is that I believe that the person we choose to build our lives with should be respected, appreciated and valued above all others. As the late Paul Newman once said when asked if he'd ever been tempted to cheat on his wife of 50+ years, "why would I go out for hamburg when I have steak at home?". That kind of sums up how I would feel about my mate (though it's generally not a good idea to compare your lover to a piece of meat).

Anyway, the main point is that if you're a woman who is looking for a guy you can depend on who is fun, affectionate, adventurous, spontaneous, intelligent and honest, you've found him. If you're looking for a guy who's shallow, simple and just out for a hookup, then I could refer you to a whole host of prospects, but I would not be one of them.

What would I do for a first date? Well, it would depend on the girl. For example, I wouldn't take someone who's allergic to seafood to a sushi bar.

I actually prefer more intimate settings for first dates because I would want to spend my time getting to know that person. I'm a very good conversationalist and I would like to know what she is thinking, what she cares about, her aspirations, etc.

For future dates, though, I would like to do a variety of things like kayaking to Honeymoon Island, riding in a hot air balloon, hiking, boating, horseback riding, going to Orlando or other locales on a whim. I like to do a lot of different things as long as I'm with someone I enjoy being with.
