About Me
I'm a PhD student at UT Austin. I enjoy partying or hanging out with friends, playing video games, and working out in the gym. I also like cooking stir-fry, although I've been busy so I've been doing less of this than before.
Like most Asians, I'm pretty big on studying and stuff like that. Unlike most Asians, I do like to relax on Fridays and the weekends to have some fun. I tend to be really loud and talkative, and I often crack stupid jokes (some people find this obnoxious).
My favorite books are: Les Miserables, Ender's Game, Beak of the Finch, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the LOTR series. I used to read a lot but now the only book that I read is my EECS312 textbook...
I like a lot of the action movies, like the Matrix series, LOTR series, Spiderman 1/2, 300, and Batman Begins. I also enjoyed Memento and Requiem for a Dream. I also watch some Anime shows. Death Note is probably my favorite.
As for music, I like basically everything but redneck country. I listen to a lot of Classical, which is really good music for studying or working on stuff. I especially like Dvorak and Berlioz. I also love a lot of Classic Rock, like The Beatles, The Eagles, and Eric Clapton. As for more modern stuff, I also like The Shins and a few others. I'm not extremely loyal to particular bands, and I just generally listen to what "sounds good", which can be pretty much anything. I usually listen to music in spurts: I'll listen to Pandora or something like that while I'm studying. However, my ears will eventually hurt from wearing earbuds for hours at a time, and I'll stop listening to music. Eventually, I'll start to listen to music and the cycle repeats.
I like all kinds of foods except for celery. I especially like steak, and seafood pasta. I also love Chinese food in general. I know how to cook authentic Chinese stir-fry, which came in handy when I lived in a co-op and had to cook for around 30-40 people once a week.
First Date
I'm pretty flexible. A more traditional dinner/movie is fine, but things like going out for a run/walk/hike, coming over for video games and home-made food also work :)
