I am a divorced, single father of two teenage kids that spends most of his time with my kids (volleyball, lacrosse, marching band, and school work) and my small business. I am intelligent (enough), straightforward, easy going, and have a sense of humor (albeit it can be bit dry sometimes). Right now I am mostly focused on helping my kids through high school and onto college, but I enjoy getting out and doing just about anything (your basic jack of all trades). Sports, movies, walks, theatre, dinner or just coffee and conversation.

My hope is to make some new acquaintances, and that one may turn into a friendship that will allow us both to relax and truly be outselves with one another. However, I know myself well enough to know that my ultimate goal over the long term is to find a single relationship on which to focus all my love, energy and attention.

As I have preached to my kids for as long as I can remember, the best relationships are built on a foundation of friendship, so that is where I intend to start, finding a friend, dating again, and being open to the long term possibilities.

I think the best first date, if you can call it that, is just for two people to meet in a neutral, safe place where they can talk and see if the feeling and chemistry is right. It can be over a drink, coffee, or just meeting at the beach to talk.

If both parties agree to meet after that then it is just deciding what would be a fun thing to do for both people. I wouldn't mind going to a comedy club. It has been awhile since I did that.
