CONFIDENCE is many things, arrogance is not one of them. I am CONFIDENT of whom I am. I am not perfect, yet through my imperfections, I have come to know myself and lifes' lessons, better. I think I have learned well or so I hope. You must be able to see things with open eyes. I am PASSIONATE about many things that touch my heart and soul. WORDS are a passion of mine. Know my words and you will know my heart and soul from within..I am open minded and clear of vision.

I have been blessed to travel places such as Costa Rica, Brasil, Peru to name a few. It is such a beautiful world if we would but open our eyes.

....SOLDIERS SONG....

Smoke was slowing rising as the light began to fade.
There were fires on the skyline from distant border raids.
Now I was out riding at 17, to join my first brigade.
Many years ago.

And I chanced upon a farmhouse where the woman took me in.
She gave me food and wine. She gave me shelter from the wind.
She delayed me from my regiment and service of my king.
Many years ago.

She said, "Soldier, before I lose you to the fight."
"Oh my soldier, I'll make a man of you tonight."
She took me over in the fading fireglow.
On the wild and misty night, she was my woman.

When I woke next morning, I was gone before she stirred.
Pulled myself away from there and left without a word.
The sounds of distant infantry was the only thing I heard on that morning.

And in that day, I aged ten years and died a thousand deaths.
I learned the feel of frozen steel and fear within my breast.
But the lesson I'll remember, til they lay me to my rest, keeps returning.

She said "Soldier, before I lose you to the fight."

When the dice of war was thrown and victory was won.
My drunken young compatriots went out to have their fun.
And there was no single house they did not burn or overrun.
On that evening..

Then I rode out to that place again as hard as I could ride.
And I found her by the trail along the mountainside.
In the hands of those brave friends of mine, she suffered and she died.
Many years ago.

Have you ever just wanted to be totally yourself with someone? Just to be YOU? Not worrying about what is said or thought of you by someone? Knowing you can say what you truly want, feel what you truly feel, not hiding or lying about anything? Talking of the demons within you and the angels surrounding you? You CAN! You truly CAN. Try it and KNOW how good it feels to be alive and live truly FREE...(Boy, a lot of truly there!!)..Remember, I laugh at myself, better and longer than you can.

I can now feel the beginning of yearnings inside me, telling me to go where the winds are calling me. I do not know where the winds will carry me. Only that I must find the source of its calling. It perhaps, will be the start of something wonderful and beautiful. Filled with events and people that can never be put into words. For they are only for the memories of the heart. I hope, along the way, in some place, I will leave a part of me. More importantly, I will take dirt from the roads travelled and those yet to come and proudly say; "Yes, I left there with your dirt in my shoes and I am a better person because of what I now have in my pockets."

My scars and tatts will tell you of a life lived. Yet, they will not tell you how it was lived on its journey, finding beauty in almost every road taken..

I find great satisfaction within, working in a soup kitchen, with no expectation or reward, except that of doing and realizing how being humble is one small trait of a human being. As it was then, so it is now, any act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted...
