i find myself single at this stage of the game, and though i can function this way, its just not as fulfilling as sharing life with someone special. i wanna hold hands again, tailgate before a ravens game, watch a movie and snuggle on the couch, just enjoy life, with someone who shares at least some of my passions.

i think a first date should be a casual outing, ie happy hour and munchies at a local sports bar, perhaps a game of billiards. i personally find first meetings much easier over a beer or two.
