About me: I am not overly complicated. I have a good sense of humor (sometimes spiked with sarcasm) and do not take myself so seriously that I cannot laugh at myself. I can be a bit nerdy at times, just a little - no pocket protector or pants hiked above my belly button (unless of course we are going out with your friends or meeting your family). I have moments of complete clarity and may exhibit a prowess of articulation that borders on genius (oh – this is rare). Three seconds later (sometimes less), I may do or say something that makes you wonder how it is that I generated the brainpower sufficient to tie my shoes (not so rare).

I have learned (the hard way) the importance of being friends. Sex and romance are beautiful things (big fan of both) but if we cannot drop our guards with each other – what’s the point? I have learned the importance of being “the man”. “The man” is the one she races home to because she just had the best day ever and can’t wait to tell all about it or when the little slut (her word - not mine) in the next cubicle just became her new boss and she is pissed beyond human comprehension. “The man” is the one that makes her heart stutter when she hears his key hit the lock – even though they have been together for years. He is the one that when there is a bump in the night makes her pity whatever caused the bump because he is getting out of bed to handle it and it may not be pretty. He is both jury and executioner in defense of her honor but never does he judge. He is the keeper of her secrets (even those she will not tell her girls) and the holder of her heart.

I saved the best for last: I have learned that sometimes it is best just to shut up and listen and there is nothing wrong with doing things just to make her happy. It does not have to make sense. If it makes her happy and it won't land you in the emergency room - just do it (includes, but is not limited to, all issues regarding: the toilet seat, toenail clippings, hair in the tub, toothpaste in the sink, shoes at the door, socks in the hamper and not checking out her co-workers on the sneak – especially the little slut that just became her new boss. Again, her word; not mine).
