A little about myself...I think I'm a fairly understanding guy and try to see things from other people's point of view. I try to treat others with respect and hope they will treat me in the same way, too.

I'm hoping to find a "significant other" and realize from past experience that this is not at all an easy thing to accomplish. You probably feel the same way, or you wouldn't be spending time reading my blurb!

It's hard to distill yourself into a few short paragraphs...I'm a rather intellectual guy, and tend to be focused and on the serious side at times. I try to eat well (I'm almost vegetarian, but do like seafood) and take care of myself, as I have learned that no one else is going to do these things for me. Being health-conscious is important to me. I enjoy the outdoors - love to walk & (day) hike. From past experience I have found that I tend to get along best with men who are on the easy-going side and extroverted.

I've always found myself far from the gay mainstream - I've never been interested in going to bars, and am not into casual encounters. My approach to relationships is pretty old-fashioned (monogamous). I would describe myself as reserved, but at the same time am quite assertive.

I do have a lighter side, which tends to come out (no pun intended) when I'm around men I'm attracted to. I will try and get a better "goatee" photo for this profile - the one you see now is the best I could do with my cellphone camera.

Meeting for a walk and/or coffee would be a good way to start.
