Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Today is the first day towards living the life that I love. Today is the first day that I don't look back, only forward. Today is the day that I'm reaching out to meet new people. Today, I will tell you about me. (: I'm a mom of 3 children (18, 14 and 10) who recently divorced her high school sweetheart. Life is funny, to find yourself 20 years later discovering who you are all over again. Having your first baby at 19 wasn't the easiest of tasks, but it was one that we were determined to not only take it on, but succeed in doing so. Being faced with so much adversity, I can look back with pride on my last 20 years.. even more so, the last 10. I'm very active - loving dirt bike riding, camping, hiking, boating, traveling and just hanging out bbq'ing. I can get down and dirty, and yet can be ready for a night out on the town that same day! I'm very down to earth, can see optimism in just about everything, can't understand the cruelness in the world, yet can empathize with the greatest of travesties. I travel for work, and love every minute of it. I've taken my children to other countries and I think the travel bug bit them as well. I like people who can recognize when someone needs a hand without asking, and can not only be true to themselves, but also to others. I don't have time for games, or immaturity. I am in the midst of teaching my children to live the life that they love as well - in all that they do and all that they touch. It's quite simple actually. I'm spontaneous.. I like to fly by the seat of my pants. I jump in with both feet .. figuring it out along the way. It's part of the journey. I like to be silly, but like others to find comfort in silliness too. An ideal first day is one without pressure. Pressure can be the surroundings, the expectations, the vibes that you give off upon meeting. "Hanging out" is an ideal first day in a relaxing scene. T-shirt, jeans and flip-flops is a good start! (:
