When all of my friends got married, my opportunities to get out virtually disappeared. I used to be a lot more wild, going to places like Put-In-Bay, New York City for New Years, Gull Island in Lake St. Clair, a 35 man bachelor party in Vegas, and another week-long 4 man bachelor "party" in Oregon which involved climbing Mount Adams, white water rafting, and the Portland Brewery Festival. Life has slowed down quite a bit. Playing softball, poker nights, occasionally watching football at the bar with my friends, and friends coming in from out of town get me out of the house now. I was volunteering at a free clinic, but not being medically trained really limited how I could contribute, so I let it go.

There is no substitute for female companionship, and that is what I am looking for. I want to be a father and a husband some day. My father passed nearly a year ago. He was married to my mother for 51 years. I would like to try and match that, but first I have to get out of this house! He never pushed me to, but I could tell my dad wanted to point out that a woman was not going to come and knock on the door and ask me to go out on a date.
