About Me
Bobby Franchise was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With an absent mother and a father murdered at 17, he grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home, from the ages 10 through to 19. Yet, at the age of 16, his love for making music was ignited. With his long time friend and a computer microphone, Bobby began to dabble in what would become the love of his life, music.
Eventually leaving Children’s Aid at 19, he needed to make a living. He started in the drug game at an after-hours club, beginning his hustle with weed, expanding to ecstasy and cocaine. He found some success until a drug war began, and dealers were getting picked off one by one. When his partner was murdered, along with a few other major dealers in Halifax, protection was needed. Bear mace and a taser were his weapons of choice, until being arrested on weapons charges and being locked up. Out on bail, Bobby went home to find his place covered in police tape, shot up and rummaged. Someone had come to his house to kill his friend, and shot off ten bullets, and ended up shooting his pit bull three times instead. So with his 9 o’clock curfew and check-ins in place, he decided it was time to move on. Jasper, Alberta was his next stop. Within a week in Jasper, things went sour. There is a break-in at his house, and in the midst of the attack, he stabs his assailant in the neck. In the aftermath, Bobby was charged with Attempted Murder. The charge was eventually dropped with the defendant disappearing, and at that point Bobby decided to focus on his music.
He is now 23 years old, and his goals are to continue making music, selling a million albums, and finding success to provide for the family he hopes to have someday. He has worked with such amazing artists as super producer Ciprian Enache from Romania, Shawn Bernard aka Feenix, who was nominated for best rap album 2008 at the National Aboriginal Music Awards, as well as appeared in his Video ‘From the Get Go”, which is on rotation on Canada’s Much Music. He has appeared on many mix tapes – Canada’s finest volume 1, and The Heavy Hittas Vol. 1, a limited self made mix tape.
Bobby’s plan for the future includes continue performing live onstage, signing a record deal and fulfilling his dream of making music.
