Not that I'm any of those things!!

Hello.

I've just moved into the area and don't know too many people so I thought this might be a good way to meet people. I work in an IT job but in reality computers are all a bit of a mystery to me, so I'm not your nerdy computer boffin type really. I just do that because my number one career choice of being a rich lady's plaything doesn't seem to have worked out...yet. :-)

I like the usual things that most people are into: music, films, books, etc, and have reasonably wide taste in each of them. I tend towards the older end of the musical spectrum though (Stones, Velvet Underground, Dylan, Beatles, etc), rather than towards the modern poppy end. I'm willing to be educated though. My favourite films change all the time but Withnail and I and the Big Lebowski are pretty permanently in there.

I play various instruments - mostly badly. These being the guitar, ukelele and, the musical choice of the anti social, the banjo. I've been in bands in the past but thats a long time ago and is all over and done with now.

I tend to veer drastically from being a keen runner to being an equally keen non-runner. I'm currently in the grip of a rich vein of enthusiasm for it and my trainers and I are currently on friendly terms. This could change at any moment. I like walking too, not necessarily in nice countryside or anything, just walking in general. Does that make me a wierdo?

I like travelling and intend going on holiday pretty soon because I haven't had one for a while...I just need to think of somewhere good to go. There's nothing quite like being somewhere with only the faintest grasp of the language to get by on. :-)

I'm newly single so I'm not too bothered about rushing straight into a dating situation, which means you're all perfectly safe, ladies, I'm not going to be proposing marriage after half a dozen messages or anything like that. I'm really just into meeting new friends and maybe seeing how things go in the long term. Should romance blossom though I'm quite old fashioned and believe on honesty, openess, fidelity, treating people with respect, that kind of thing. Which of course makes me the worlds greatest man. ;-)

I'm never especially photogenic but even taking that into consideration I look a bit surprised on this photo, like someone is harrasing me out of shot. My eyes aren't normally popping out of my head in this way, trust me on that. In the interests of full disclosure though I thought it was probably worth putting up a "warts and all" shot instead of an airbrushed glamour number....of which I have many, obviously! I also have a bit of a beard here on this photo but that very often isn't there. Now that's versatility for you.

My life's goal is to find myself in a situation that requires me to jump out of a cake. One day.....if I just keep hoping.......

I'll end the punishment there.
