I'm a fairly simple man with simple tastes, looking for a companion and (hopefully) soulmate to share the rest of the journey. Hiking, photography, travel, reading, playing soccer, and watching good movies are probably my biggest hobbies. [I've started FaceBooking recently, and it can be a lot of fun.] I love scary movies and SciFi, but my tastes in film, literature & music are pretty eclectic. I'm seeking an intelligent but down-to-earth woman who loves the outdoors, hiking, travel, sports (at least a little), literature, movies, art, culture/history. I'm fairly introverted by nature, but not a social recluse by any means. I'm not into the bar scene... although I like the occasional local brew. I'm more a dog person than a cat person, but I really like ALL animals and wildlife. My idea of a perfect evening could be simply staying at home with a good movie on DVD, a tasty pizza (or good Chinese or Thai carryout) and a nice bottle of wine. I like women who are well-read and well-educated; but no snobs please. Should be open-minded and tolerant of other cultures & beliefs. [No religious fundamentalists or hard-core Republicans, PLEASE.] Spirituality is more important than religion to me. You should be reasonably fit and athletic so we can go on hikes, bike rides, etc.
A good sense of humor and a quick wit are definite turn-ons.

Probably best to just meet someplace casual for a cup of coffee (or tea), or a glass of wine. Can usually tell within ~10 minutes if there's any potential 'chemistry'. Perhaps on the second date we could do a nice hike or some other outdoor adventure. There's nothing like being out in nature with someone you're attracted to! :-)
