ME: Oh, so very happy to be living in southern California! Born in NY, grew up in the great OC, upstate NY for education, 3 years in Seattle, and now back in sunny LA for the past 5 years, with no plans to ever leave again (other than to travel, which is something I love to do).
I have a diversity of interests: music - jazz, r&b, acoustic, rock, classical, just about anything other than rap; books - undergrad degree is in literature; films - if you were to ask me right now what some of my favorite movies are, I'd likely say Wings of Desire, One From the Heart, and perhaps, Groundhog Day, but there are many,many others; dining in and out - I really enjoy cooking and baking, but also appreciate fine dining and wining as well as occasional great diner food; travel - been to many spots around the world, want to go to Spain, love Greece and Mexico....;
dancing - did ballet for years in childhood and adolescence, intermittently since then, and I will dance almost any chance I get - parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs, clubs (especially Latin); learning - it's so easy to get caught up in one's own reality and to forget that there are so many other perspectives, ideas, ways of looking at the world; exercise - I run, go to the gym, tend to be very active; and I like going out and staying in - can hardly wait for the crisp cool Fall air to arrive so I can make good use of my fireplace. And my friends - I am so fortunate to have wonderful friends who've been in my life for many years, some since childhood, and I value them deeply. My family, too, is very important to me. It was a major reason I moved back to LA, and I am so lucky to be close to them once again.

People tend to think I'm bright, funny, sincere, but we all know that beauty is in the eye of..........I've been told on more than one occasion that I can't easily be put into a box. I'm also very affectionate, passionate (and sexy, I'm told), and I enjoy and desire close physical contact with my mate.

I'm independent and self-sufficient - can take care of myself but would really like a companion with whom to share this wonderful life. Also -I am liberal politically - pro-choice, pro-gay marriage - but tolerant of other viewpoints as long as they don't involve racism or telling other people how to live their lives. My sister is happily married to a Republican - he's a wonderful guy - they just don't discuss politics.

And I have two great dogs - small in size but big in heart and mind. Pics of them soon.

YOU: I am looking for a man who is bright, honest, sincere, funny and quick-witted, who feels good about who he is and about what he is doing in the world. I would like a man who makes me laugh and who can keep me on my toes. Re: physical stuff - "buff" is not necessary or necessarily desired - I'd just like to be with someone who takes good care of himself and is lucky enough to have and appreciate his good health. Kids are fine, but my preference would be that they are grown - I love children, but don't think I want to become a mom raising small kids at this point in my life. I'm fortunate to have two sisters, a total of 3 nephews and 2 nieces, all wonderful and with whom I take great pleasure in being their aunt. My family is very important to me.

And - popular movies aside - you really must love dogs.

Does it really matter? A glass of wine or a cup of coffee - just to meet and see if we have that elusive thing called chemistry.
