I may look like an average, normal, middle-class, regular guy, but apart from my demographics and vital statistics, I'm far from average. And, really, 'average' just bores me. There's too much really crazy & interesting stuff in this world to settle for the typical run-of-the-mill -- don't you agree?

Music is a huge part of my life - I'm currently playing bass in 4 completely different bands, running the gamut from Velvet Undergroundish folk-rock, to noisy & artistic punk, to a DEVO tribute band, and I've started playing some acoustic guitar at a local open mic night doing versions of old rock and old timey hillbilly folk songs. I also spend time doing art (drawings and prints mostly), working on fixing up my house, baking experimental (and delicious!) bagels, going out to see interesting bands in clubs around town, and trying to figure out how to get enough sleep while also holding down a full-time professional day job as a librarian. It's not easy! But I like keeping busy, so hey.

I really appreciate creative and interesting people who know how to think for themselves, and have a good sense of humor about themselves. There's a fine line between taking what you do seriously, and taking yourself too seriously -- I'm always ready to laugh at myself, and the absurdity of the world around us is a never-ending source of inspiration. Who has time for tv? Ok, I do have one, but it's rarely used for anything other than watching an occasional Laurel & Hardy short, or the odd 1960s Bollywood musical on DVD.

A good first date would ideally include meeting up for dinner and/or drinks to get to know each other better -- from there, I'm all up for spontaneity. Anything from checking out the Art Museum, going to a thrift store to see what krazy stuff might be there, walking in the park in our lovely Cleveland weather, touring the insane industrial scenery of the steel mills in the flats, listening to some music -- however the mood strikes. I'm always up for an adventure.
