I vacillate between ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ and waiting for lightning to strike when it comes to finding a relationship. I am modest and tend to under-sell myself, which makes this a poor forum for me. That said, here I am.

So, what am I? Outwardly, I am a tall, well-built man with blue eyes and thinning brown hair. Proceeding a little deeper, I am healthy and in good shape; for example, last summer I slept on the ground for a month while excavating in Romania.

I was raised to be polite and well spoken. I have been refined by education and experience. Proceeding, I am a good talker and a good listener. I enjoy cooking and entertaining. I tend bees and make mead. I read and travel. I am solvent emotionally and financially.

I value honesty and laughter. Like everyone, I have been tossed around a bit by life. But for reasons I do not fully comprehend, I am usually happy and tend to focus on my blessings rather than my burdens. Apparently, somewhere along the line I learned to start sentences with ‘I’. I feel at my best outside and most centered working in my garden. I know where the center of the universe is: wherever I am, which means I am content [usually]. But it’s a quiet contentment, one that I would rather share.
