The Invitation

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, Yes!

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.

I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.


Okay, so I put Dating, which just means I have no expectations I don't know how things are going to turn out. What it does mean is that I am open to enjoy life. I think that if you have certain expectations of find something fast it just leads to failure (poem below) looking in the wrong places because you want something other than real life, I am looking forward to getting to know a person, maybe we will just be friends, maybe it is just the kind of person that you just want to hang out with because you enjoy the same things but don't have that certain chemistry. Life is full of surprises and it is wonderful to enjoy them.

I am an intelligent person, who tries to enjoy time away from work. Yes, I am employed full time and I am new to the Jackson (Six Flags) area. I enjoy getting to know a person, but I am also a passionate romantic person, but want to do the little thing to make you smile like hold the door for you, pull out your chair to seat you or maybe offering you my coat when you look cold.

I have travelled and lived around the world, some for job and other times just for pleasure. I enjoy the arts (live theater, museums and live music), different foods (I guess because I have travelled I enjoy foods from around the world), I enjoy all types of music, and enjoy going to the movies also. I am an optimist and go with the flow type person. I grew up in a small town but have lived in both big and little towns and cities.


I sometimes write poems what that means is I am a reflective person, it does not mean that I am not a fun person just very thoughtful at times. The good men are still around but some are just afraid to express their inner feelings, I however will express them from time to time.


Where you were,
I did not see you.

So close to me,
but yet so veiled.

Quietly you waited,
upon my invitations;
but still, somehow,
I failed to note

of you, yearning
to be with me,
but finding
just

a void.

So sadly,
you retreated;
bowed, dejected.

Finally when I knew
of you, your devotion,
so foolishly I did feel,
like a simpleton.

For I had looked
so very hard for you,
up/down/everywhere.

but I just did not looked
clear, in front of me,
where you were

. . . just there.


I guess this is enough

Just to enjoy the moments however they occur, maybe coffee or drink, a quite dinner somewhere where we can hear each other, maybe a walk on a moonlight beach listening to the waves and looking at the stars. It could be a picnic with a beautiful view.
