After having tried numerous online dating services over the past year, I heard about POF and decided to join. I was only looking for dates, nothing serious. I met several very nice men and went on lots of first dates but not many second dates - until I met swtbwilli! He contacted me in December of 2008 and we emailed back and forth for a few weeks. Our first "live" conversation was on January 15th, and each subsequent call was hours long and filled with laughter! We arranged our first date for February 7th and were both amazed at how much fun we had. I couldn't wait for a second date to happen! By our third date (February 15th) we knew that we'd found something special in each other. We couldn't bear to be apart and so, on February 23rd, he asked me to marry him and I happily said YES! We've been inseparable ever since! We will become man and wife on June 8, 2009, which happens to be his birthday. My heartfelt thanks to POF for helping me to find the love of my life!
i wanna tell you how we met on pof it was really amazing. we just started writing back and forth to each other and we started to see how we had alot in commom. the last weekend of april 4 2009 the day after her birthday we finally met and hit it off very very well. today we both are still far apart due to fact that we both are tring to have a beautiful and happy life and to build a solid foundation. but we are willing to go to any length to meet each other i live in long beach and she live in riverside this weekend i am making a really good effort to meet her she is the smile and positivity in my life today that make me very happy everytime i hear her on the phone or see her in person she is what the call to me the love of my life and together i hope that we can find a easier softer way to meet again. in these hard times that we have we find that it is so hard for each of us to meet that we do go to any lenght for love and to keep are happiness alive we share a successful common bond between us that make both me and her happy. today we offten talk about how we wanna move in together but it is hard to do. are love is over flowing that if we could be together 24/7 we would have the best commom bond and make each other life happy and whole. paul & Betsy wanna thank you plenty of fish for hooking us up together.she a awesome catch
Me and Cara met on POF around middle of September. I saw her smile and it took me away so I messaged her. We kept talking until October where I asked her if she wanted to meet up and so we did on October 6. I remember I was fasting for religious reasons but I was taken away by Cara's kindness, beauty, and charms that I forgot to break my fast and so I ended up eating at 12 AM. We continued hanging out after that and with every passing day my love for Cara grew more and more. I came out of a destructive relationship before that but Cara's love and kindness got me back on my feet emotionally. With Cara, I have never enjoyed being in a relationship with someone as much as with her. She's my love and the queen of my heart. She's even learning my home language, culture, and religion for me and it makes me beyond happy. Once she's done school and we both become stable financially, I'll ask for her hands in marriage god willing. I truly thank this site for helping me meet Cara. I love the variety of this site while it remains free. It's great work by the owner and staff of the site. Again, thank you for helping me meet Cara. Wish the best to everyone.
I had been looking for love for a VERY long time... and definitely looking in too many wrong places. I had been dating online and through dating services for a few years, in addition to meeting men through friends (and work, school, plays, bars, and .. ahem.. liquor stores). It was fall of 2007 and my latest crush had for some time been on the son of my dear friend Lynne, who is actually the one to thank for leading me into the arms of my real true love. Lynne knew that I had been dating online and suggested that I try this site called plentyoffish.com, so after some hesitation (only because I figured it would just be another waste of time), I thought I might as well give it a try. It was pretty slow at first, but after a few weeks, I really started getting a lot of "bites".. lol. I went out with a few guys, but just like most others, they just weren't that into me.. or I just really didn't want them to be! Then one day, this guy writes and says in the subject line, "Howdy cowgirl!" and I laughed because that was just funny to me. He was responding to a picture I had posted on the site of me in a silly kid's cowboy hat that Lynne had worn as part of her Halloween costume and as usual, we were goofing off taking pictures and being silly. I'm happy I noticed this email and took time to check out this guy's profile. He seemed really down to earth and pretty cute, but very casual. I didn't really take him very seriously. We emailed a few times and then texted/talked on the phone before he asked me to meet him for lunch. I agreed to have lunch, but didn't really expect the date to lead to anything special. He seemed like a nice, casual guy that didn't really care for anything serious... AND I had already had so many first dates that didn't really lead anywhere that I just assumed this would really just be another free lunch, but he was cute and funny so what the heck. We had decided to meet at Atlanta Bread Company and when I asked what kind of car he drove he just said a black one. Ok, weird, but ok, so when I drove up, he was SO much cuter than he was in his pictures and he had the most precious smile. I was excited. That was the most fun I have ever had on a date. He has made me smile since that first day more than any man ever could. I only hope I can make him as happy for the rest of his life as he makes me. We are getting married on May 16th, 2009!
